DUMBO: Soho Like It Used To Be / Are you listening before / As or Soho was before / Comme était avant Soho will

Empire Fulton Ferry Park.
In my recent trip to the U.S. I visited DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridges). This part of Brooklyn Reminds us of Manhattan's Soho What Used To Be, and in Many Ways, to Palermo Viejo and Its cobblestone streets, factories turned into luxury lofts, warehouses transformed into art galleries, restaurants and brand-new high rises built by developers seeking for lucre. I actually found more street art here than at Soho. And of course, you have that wonderful view of Manhattan skyline from the Empire Fulton Ferry Park. You can read about this area here . Map and more info . Well, many of my readers definitely know Dumbo and Soho better than I, so if you’d like to share your opinion, comparison, photos or thoughts about these neighborhoods and Palermo Viejo with us, it would be great.

Visiting Another Soho / Visiting the other Soho / Visiting or outro Soho Soho in visitors l'autre

Cast iron buildings.
As I had mentioned previously, I visited the New Yorker neighborhood which inspired Palermo Soho recently and I’m uploading some photos here. By the way, did you know that SoHo has the greatest collection of cast iron structures in the world? Approximately 250 cast iron buildings stand in New York City and the majority of them are in this neighborhood. Cast iron was initially used as a decorative front over a pre-existing building. And even though it has nothing to do with the architecture of Palermo Viejo, it was the spirit of this artistic area that inspired local artists and independent designers to settle down in Palermo Viejo and transform it into “Palermo Soho”. Some similarities: lofts, refurbished warehouses turned into galleries, small shops with banners and a few years later, the arrival of big brands. You can read more info about NY Soho here .

At first it was used as decoration on an existing building. And though it has nothing to do with the style of the architecture of Palermo Soho, was her artistic spirit that inspired independent designers and artists to settle in Palermo Viejo and make it the "Soho". As I mentioned before, I visited the Manhattan neighborhood that inspired Palermo Soho and here are some pictures. Did you know that New York's Soho has the largest collection of buildings with iron structure of the world? Are close to 250 and the majority remain in Soho. At first, this aesthetic was used as decoration on existing buildings. And even though the architectural style has nothing to do with the Palermo Soho, was the spirit of artistic designers who influenced the neighborhood and artists to settle here in Palermo Viejo and converted it on Soho Porteño. Some similarities: lofts, sheds recycled into art galleries, small stores with banners and a year later, the arrival of big brands. More info on this site .

Musica Online Gratis Para Ipod

'm back / Volvo / Turn / Je suis de retour

Many different events had happened in my life and I haven’t been blogging as you certainly have noticed. Shame on me! But here I am again with some updates.
- I almost had to close Atípica, when the owner asked for a surreal raise on my lease. Finally, reality won and we arrived to an agreement. With tourism going down about a 40%, the Swine Flu and recession, it was a slow winter. Many boutiques and restaurants had to close their doors, but as crisis also brings opportunities many other businesses arrived to Palermo Viejo, such as Muma’s cupcakes, La Manina (there was a lack of kiosks in the area) on Malabia and El Salvador St., BLVD furniture and Anarakoo (clothing) on Gorriti St. and Gas Oil where Eufemia was located, just to mention a few. But going back to Atípica, there are new colorful arrivals. You can check them out on 4510 El Salvador or wait for my next post.
- I had my minutes of fame on TV, when I was interviewed for a show regarding mass media (Historia Presente, canal 7) about Communication Strategies of Women’s Magazines, a paper I wrote several years ago.
- I also had extra courses at the university where I teach and by the way, I’m giving another lecture on Blogging at the Universidad de Palermo tomorrow morning.
- I had the chance to travel to New York after 8 years and visited the Soho, the neighborhood which inspired trendy Palermo Viejo. I’ve also been to DUMBO in Brooklyn and even had one of my photos published on one of its blogs (similar to TPV). I’ll be sharing some photos with you in a separate post.
- The government of BA has been working in the neighborhood. It’s taking them months to do something which, in my opinion, were unnecessary changes that only steal the spirit of the old Palermo Viejo, which was exactly what gave the area its special charm. Parking was already difficult in the neighborhood, now with wider sidewalks and less space available for cars, it will only get worse, not to mention an Increase on traffic due to narrower streets. Preferred'd Have To Have Improvements made in hospitals and schools. What do you think?

Much has happened in recent months and have not been blogging, as I have noticed. Shame! But here I am back with some tunes!
- I almost have to close Atypical because I asked for an increase in rent surreal but reality won and reached an agreement with the owner. With a drop of almost 40% in tourism, more influenza A and recession, it was a slow winter. Many businesses and restaurants had to close their doors, but as crisis there is opportunity, many others decided to move into the neighborhood, for example, Muma's Cupcakes and the kiosk La Manina (few in the area) in Malabia and El Salvador, BLVD furniture (furniture) and Anarakoo (clothing) on \u200b\u200bGorriti and Gas Oil where Eufemia was. But back to Atípica, new products are colorful. Give a tour of El Salvador 4510 to view or wait for my next post.
- I had my minutes of fame on TV, when a few weeks ago I interviewed for a show on History Channel 7 Present Communication Strategies women's magazine, a paper I wrote some years ago.
- The last semester I took extra courses at the university where I teach and tomorrow morning giving another lecture on Blogging at the University of Palermo.
- I had the good fortune to travel to New York after 8 years and traveled the Soho (neighborhood that inspired Palermo Soho) and DUMBO in Brooklyn (I published a photo on a blog like this, but in this neighborhood ), so I will share photos with you
- Several studies are being conducted in the district by the City Government. Works taking them months and in my opinion, were unnecessary, since it removes the spirit of old Palermo Viejo, redundancy. Parking was already a problem, now with extended sidewalks at corners, will only get worse. No way al del trafficking eliminarse un rail. Hubie preferred that invirtiera mejorar en los hospitales y escuelas. ¿Qué opinan? *
